This statue with a man's head and a shark's torso represents King Béhanzin (1889-1894). It was carried in procession during the annual parade of wealth between the royal palace and the market. It also accompanied troops to battlefields. For the rest of the year, it was kept in Adanjèho, "the hut of courage".
